Reference

These are the exact statutory court fees payable to HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) to issue or proceed with a case in England & Wales, fixed by statutory instrument (SI 2008/1053 / SI 2008/1054). They are mandatory government charges, not lawyer fees — England & Wales has no statutory lawyer tariff, so solicitors' and barristers' fees are agreed privately. You may pay a reduced fee, or nothing, under Help with Fees (form EX160) if you are on a low income or certain benefits. Figures apply to England & Wales only; Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate court fees.
