Fifteen interface languages
Portuguese (Português) is now a Tarifo interface language — the fifteenth, alongside English, Bulgarian, Polish, Czech, Romanian, Greek, Italian, German, Slovak, Croatian, Hungarian, Dutch, Slovenian and Serbian. Pick it once from the language selector in the top bar and it stays with you as you move between country calculators. It pairs naturally with the Portugal calculator, so Portuguese speakers can read both the interface and the result in their own language.
A court-fee calculator
Portugal is a state-fee-only jurisdiction on Tarifo: it has no statutory lawyer tariff — advogados’ honorários are agreed privately under the Estatuto da Ordem dos Advogados (Lei 145/2015, art. 105.º) — so the calculator’s single output is the mandatory court fee (taxa de justiça). It follows the Regulamento das Custas Processuais (RCP, Decreto-Lei n.º 34/2008), where every fee is a multiple of the unidade de conta (1 UC = €102 for 2026, fixed by Lei n.º 73-A/2025, art. 242.º). The taxa de justiça is the statutory amount and carries no IVA.
What is never translated
One thing stays in its original language on purpose: the article and statute
citations. A reference like Regulamento das Custas Processuais,
Decreto-Lei n.º 34/2008 or a value-table entry is how you find the
exact rule in the official Diário da República — so Tarifo keeps it verbatim
rather than translating it.
